What a great place to see the ocean life in California. There
are so many different types of sea creatures that you can see through
aquariums, and there are also shark bones and other skeletons
of great sea life. Another great thing about this aquarium is
that it is located right beside the beach, so after you go and explore in
the aquarium put on your bathing suites and go to the beach! Great
for all ages.
HOURS: Tues.-Fri. 12pm-5pm; Sat.-Sun. 10am-5pm. The
Touch Tank opens twenty minutes at a time: Tues.-Fri. 1:30pm, 2:30pm,
& 3:30pm; Sat.-Sun. at 11:30am, 1:30pm, 2:30pm, & 3:30pm.
COST: The aquarium is free, but there is a $6.50
parking fee.

If you are a cat lover you have to come see this place! Over 10
different species are represented amongst the 40 different wild exotic
cats. You will see Jaguars, leopards and other types of amazing cats.

Here is your chance to hang out on a real farm! All the animals you
would want to see on a farm are all at this farm. You will see cows, pigs,
goats, chickens, ducks, turkeys, and many other animals. A great
place for young children. Great for all ages.
HOURS: Open Sat. & Sun. from 10am-6pm. Call before
you go because times and days do change.
COST: $3 for ages 1 and up. Pony rides are an additional
$2.50.
HOLLYWOOD PARK

A great place for horse lovers. If you want to bring children, they even
have a children's play area. Great for 3 years and up.
HOURS: From April through July. Call for times.

KELLOGG'S ARABIAN HORSE

A great show of beautiful Arabian horses parade around for you for a one
hour show. Great for 3 years and up.

A beautiful new aquarium has been built and will be opening this summer.
Right by the aquarium is the beach so you can make a full day trip out of

Everyone knows what a zoo is all about, but this was is really great for
everyone to have a great time. Great for all ages.

MARINE MAMMAL CARE CENTER

This place houses sick and injured sea mammals, so while they are there
being nursed back to health you have a chance to visit the animals . Also
right next door is the Fort MacArthur Museum. Great for all ages.
HOURS: Open everyday from 8am-4pm.

MONTEBELLO BARNYARD
ZOO/GRANT REA PARK

This park is great because you have your usual park with grass and the
baseball fields, but it also has a petting zoo with different types of
animals and pony rides. Great for everyone.
HOURS: The park is open everyday from 7am-dusk; The zoo
is open from 9:30am-5pm everyday. Pony rides are not available on Mondays.
COST: Everything is free except for the pony rides which
are $2 and the hay rides which are a $1 per person.
ROUNDHOUSE AQUARIUM
Manhattan Beach Blvd., at the end of the Manhattan Beach pier,

This is really a great aquarium, and to add to it there is a great beach
right below the pier. There is also fishing off the pier. Great for all
ages.
HOURS: The aquarium is open Mon.-Fri. 3pm-sunset; Sat.
& Sun. 10am-sunset.
COST: The aquarium is free. If you want to take a tour
there are prices for that (please call for the prices). There is no
official parking there is metered parking and wherever you can find a
spot!
SANTA ANITA PARK

A really fun place to watch beautiful horses race, and in the morning you
can take a tram ride through the barns and see what goes on every morning
to prepare the horses for the races. Great for ages 3 and up.
HOURS: The season runs from December through April and
the month of October.
COST: Free before 9:30; After 9:30 admission is $4 for
adults; Free for kids 17 and under when accompanied by an adult. Parking
is $3 after 9:30am.
